Pupa (as known as chrysalis for other species) is the last stage of Hermetia illucens life cycle. The emergence happens three days after this step. Then the laying peak occurs approximately 7 days after the client’s reception. Weight of the pupae is directly linked to the production performance: if the chrysalis is bigger, the number of eggs will be higher.
